The Rocket is a character audio compressor built for very fast response, reacting in microseconds to variations in program level. Being several thousand times faster than most ordinary compressors, The Rocket hits hard.
A single sample at 44.1kHz spans 22.6 microseconds. The Rocket’s attack time can go below that level so even the first sample is fully under control. On a master bus, it can tame transients almost like a brickwall limiter.
Within The Rocket’s “Impetus” circuits, warmth and aggression coexist as DSP: from delicate musical gain reduction to dirty, heavy, slamming behavior when you push it.
